- W1894089872 abstract "This chapter introduces the definition of D-pseudo-bosons (D-PBs) and analyzes in detail some of its consequences and their connections with ordinary bosons. It concentrates on two very interesting models, one related to a one-dimensional shifted harmonic oscillator and the other to a two-dimensional perturbed harmonic oscillator living in a noncommutative flat space, which clarify how losing self-adjointness of the Hamiltonian causes much more problems than one could probably expect. PFs provide an unifying language for several interesting models introduced along the years. The chapter discusses two possible extensions of the canonical commutation and anti-commutation relations, showing that, in both cases, an interesting functional structure arises: orthonormal bases are replaced by biorthogonal sets, nonself- adjoint operators appear having discrete and real eigenstates, intertwining operators are naturally defined, and some of them map non-self-adjoint to self-adjoint operators." @default.
