- W1919925111 abstract "The fundamental principles and major advantages of the travelling wave induction heating (TWIH) are known for many years, and in some applications, TWIH could make this kind of heating more profitable in comparison with other known systems. In this paper, a 2D FEM code has been used with reference to a double-side TWIH in order to analyze the distributions of the magnetic field and eddy current intensity. In both cases a high concentration of power is presented. The main attention is focused on the choice of the density that is localized at the edge of the work-piece with the optimal position of the inductor relative to the strip. The calculation of the electromagnetic prediction of the power density field quantities has been made by 2D finite element models. The results show that TWIH could improve the distributions of magnetic force and eddy current density, and has a higher efficiency. The TWIH system looks to be more promising to solve problems related to metal deformation and noise from the system." @default.
