- W1946353390 abstract "In this article, a two-dimensional cellular automation model is proposed to simulate evolution of meandering river channels. The model incarnates two feedback mechanisms: the sediment transport capability of fluid is adjusted by erosion-sedimentation state of river bed, and this state affects the erosion coefficient of cells. The simulated results can reproduce the characteristics of a natural meandering channel such as the concave bank is eroded, while the convex bank is deposited; the distribution of the shift size of bank edge is governed by a power law, etc. The variation of the ratio of width to depth implies that new river bends may grow at the joints where the existing bends connects smoothly." @default.
