- W1963775382 abstract "Spin transfer torque and current-induced magnetic dynamics in tunnel junctions are analyzed theoretically. The spin torque is calculated in the framework of spin-polarized free-electron model while spin dynamics of a magnetically free layer is studied within the macrospin model and Landau-Lifshitz-Gilbert equation. The conditions required for switching magnetic moment of the free layer are also discussed. It is shown that the interlayer exchange coupling can play an important role, particularly in junctions with thin tunnel barriers, and can lead to current-induced steady-state precessional modes in the absence of external magnetic field." @default.
