- W1965108506 abstract "Most of the optimization methods for the design of switching networks aim at optimizing the efficiency of the switch, while paying very little attention to the complexity of the central procedure. It is possible to attain an extremely high switching efficiency in a PCM switching network at the expense of an increased number of steps in path hunting. Since the complexity and the number of steps in path hunting increase with the amount of traffic load, conventional method for the evaluation of path hunting procedures becomes inadequate. This paper describes and evaluates a relatively complex but efficient path hunting procedure. Using this procedure, high switching efficiency can be achieved without a significant increase in the number of hunting steps. Results of the evaluation of the path hunting procedure for some typical T-S-T types switching networks are presented." @default.
