- W1965881147 abstract "Novel well-defined marigold-like urea formaldehyde microspheres (UFMs) were synthesized successfully via precipitation polymerization in aqueous solution at 50 °C for 3 h and room temperature for another 24 h. Hydrochloric acid and hydroxyethyl cellulose (HEC) were respectively employed as catalyst and surfactant, and the influence of pH value and HEC on the morphology of UFMs was investigated in detail. The results showed that flower-like UFMs can be found at about pH 4, and the loading of HEC (1 g/L) can make the morphology of flower-like UFMs well-defined. Furthermore, time-dependent experiments were carried out to investigate the formation process of the flower-like UFMs, and a probable formation mechanism was proposed. The well-defined flower-like UFMs were reported for the first time." @default.
