- W1966283668 abstract "One case of benign lymphoid hyperplasiaof the rectum is presented, with the formation of several polypoid lesions and apparent spontaneous resolution. One case is presented showing by roentgen study complete obliteration of the normal mucosal pattern in the rectosigmoid associated with hepatosplenomegaly and generalized lymphadenopathy. This case is considered a transitional form between benign lymphoid hyperplasia and one of the more malignant lymphoma. Good results were obtained with palliative roentgen therapy. A serous discharge from the rectum should always suggest the possibility of a lymphoma of the rectosigmoid. A dynamic concept of the lymphomatousdiseases is outlined to facilitate understanding and management of individual cases.
