- W1966424727 abstract "The realisation of forging die prints requires in all cases machining a pattern, an electrode or the steel die proper, on a NC milling machine. This implies the definition of tool ways for roughing and finishing stages, as well as cutting parameters. A knowledge in depth of the phenomena related to the behaviour of the tool at work is necessary. If the surface obtained by different processes may in some cases meet the same quality criterion, the machining time is extremely varied. When the surface definition resorts, as in CAD, to general model of surface description, the machining mode may only be general, which results in the impossibility to particularize the machining processes with respect to the types of machined shapes and to the cutting tool used. With a view to improving the global productivity of die production, we propose a structured model features oriented. This model highlights the link between the geometric description and the machining strategies. The technological parameters and the similarity of the problems raised have allowed us to define different features. Their implementation shows that this model meets the following requirements: -fast description and modification of the features -mastering the machining modes of the features and, consequently, improving productivity -taking into account the technological parameters and the behaviour of the at work On site industrial testing shows the relevance of the proposed model applied to generating forging die prints." @default.
