- W1966543810 abstract "Delayed pressure urticaria (DPU) is notoriously difficult to treat. Histopathologically, lesions of DPU demonstrate neutrophils. Dapsone is known to modify neutrophil function significantly, and therefore could possibly modify the course of this disorder. Five patients with DPU confirmed by history and the glass sphere pressure test, who had previously failed to respond antihistamines, colchicine, and pseudoanabolic steroid, were prescribed Dapsone 50 mg daily. All patients responded to the treatment with clearance of all lesions, DPU reappeared in four when Dapsone was stopped. Reintroduction cleared all lesions. The maximum follow-up is 18 months without relapse. No significant side-effects were recorded. (J Dermatol Treat (1992)3: 61–62)" @default.
