The calculation starts from the static theory for the ($Nensuremath{pi}ensuremath{gamma}$) system with the source function $v(p)=frac{{ensuremath{xi}}^{2}}{({ensuremath{xi}}^{2}+{p}^{2})}$, $ensuremath{xi}=4.7$ ensuremath{mu}, which is of the form proposed by Fubini and Thirring in their analysis of the low-energy $ensuremath{pi}ensuremath{-}N$ phenomena, and thought of as a substitute for the form factor of the ($mathrm{NN}ensuremath{pi}$) vertex. The kinematical effects of the nucleon recoil, which is numerically very important, are also taken into account so as to cover, as much as possible, the drawback of the static theory. The contributions from the nucleon core current, ($ensuremath{gamma}ensuremath{-}3ensuremath{pi}$) vertex, and the final-state $ensuremath{pi}ensuremath{-}ensuremath{pi}$ interaction are neglected. The physical reasoning of these approximations is briefly discussed.The results of the calculation agree satisfactorily with the CalTech data and show that, in this energy region, processes other than Drell's peripheral one are still important, as well as the latter." @default.
