- W1968111904 abstract "Woven composites are very attractive engineering materials that can be attributed to higher fracture toughness, ease of handling, and better damage tolerance. Works on woven composites both thermoset and thermoplastic are numerous; however, in most instances they focus on the use of impregnated or preimpregnated fabrics. Here, another approach in preparing woven composites based on the use of preimpregnated prepreg or simply continuous fiber–impregnated thermoplastic prepreg tapes is reported. In this study, hybrid laminate composites were prepared by using a ply with different woven patterns. In this case, plain and satin woven patterns were laminated with changes in the stacking sequence. The effect of open hole, damage on hybrid woven properties was also identified. In this study, the effect of stacking sequence of hybrid woven composites, with and without hole, was defined by physical and mechanical properties. The correlation of the different stacking sequence with the end properties of woven laminate was analyzed. It was found that the properties of hole and without hole plain-satin hybrid laminate composites are governed by stacking sequence of the laminates." @default.
