• W1968184468 abstract "The anomalous scaling of normalized factorial moments (NFMs) in a e+–e− collision at different c.m. energies from 40 to 200 GeV is studied using the Monte Carlo data from the Jetset7.4 event generator. It is found that at all these energies, the NFM of orders 2–5 exhibit good scaling for an isotropic partition of 3D phase space. In contrast, the saturation parameters γ for the three 1D F2 are equal to each other at and only at the Z0 resonance energy. The power spectrum of γ has a special shape, composed of three line segments crossing each other at 91.2 GeV. The corresponding Hurst exponents are non-unity. Using both the two sets of Hurst exponents to partition the 3D phase space isotropically and anisotropically, the resulting 3D NFMs obey the scaling law well, showing that the corresponding systems are double-Hurst-exponent fractals, which means that the systems at energies other than 91.2 GeV are anisotropic (self-affine) fractals but show a faked self-similar property when the phase-space partition is isotropic. The necessary condition for the existence of such a double-Hurst-exponent fractal is deduced. The physical origin of the special shape of the γ spectrum is discussed." @default.
