• W1969125930 abstract "To determine 24 months follow-up of laparoscopic excision of posterior deep pelvic endometriosis. Prospective analysis of 131 high symptomatic women with deep pelvic endometriosis. Sixty five patients with severe symptoms among of the 131 women, underwent laparoscopic excision of deep pelvic endometriosis. Operative data as well as dysmenorrhoea, dyspareunia, chronic pelvic pain and dyschezia before, 12 and 24 months after surgical treatment were recorded. Endoscopic surgery was performed with complete separation of rectovaginal space and resection of the node. In case of vaginal involvement, vaginal exeresis was performed, in case of rectal wall involvement of more than 50%, segmental bowel resection was performed. Mean operative time was 115.4±36.4, mean blood loss was 50±24 ml. In 20 (30.7%) cases we performed excision of posterior vaginal fornix. In 8 cases (12.3%) cases we performed excision of rectal wall. At 12 months follow up 52 (80%) women revealed absent or mild dysmenorrhoea, 56 (86.1%) women revealed absent or mild dyspareunia, 58 (89.2%) women revealed absent or mild chronic pelvic pain, 62 (95.3%) women revealed absent or mild dyschezia. At 24 months follow up 52 (80%) women revealed absent or mild dysmenorrhoea, 54 (83.1%) women revealed absent or mild dyspareunia, 54 (83.1%) women revealed absent or mild chronic pelvic pain, 63 (96.9%) women revealed absent or mild dyschezia. Surgical management of deep pelvic endometriosis could be radical for the disease but conservative for the patients, performing vaginal or rectal exeresis only when strictly necessary. We noticed good improvement of symptoms and no big differences at 12 or 24 months follow-up." @default.
