The photons interact with atomic nuclei in an object to produce electron-positron pairs, which fly in the extreme forward directions. A system consisting of silicon stripe detectors (SSD) and scintillation counters measured the positions of the pairs to determine the photon-interaction points on the plane normal to the beam. The intrinsic position resolution with the present system is 550 µm at the photon energy of 0.85 GeV. The distribution of the points shows an image of the object by projection, which proves the feasibility of our proposed method." @default.
