- W1970046031 abstract "Because of the progressive muscle weakness, trunk stabilization decreases over the time. In physiotherapy settings conventional exercise approaches applies for the increasing trunk control. In this pilot study, we discussed the results of trunk stabilization training and kinesiotape applications on 3 adult patients with muscular diseases. Main clinical problems were muscle weakness, difficulties of activities of daily living, pain, fatigue and muscle spasms. Subjects were included the trunk stabilization training and for 10 weeks, 3 days per week, 45 min per day. Kinesiotape application was applied 2 days per week in order to increase the strength of the trunk and to support back muscles during the treatment. Main outcome measures were functional reach and endurance tests. At the end of 10th week anterior and lateral functional reach and endurance scores were increased. Also subjects expressed they can walk more confidentially, able to walk a longer distance without rest and able to maintain upright posture comfortably and feels vigorously. It can concluded that in addition to conventional exercise training, trunk stabilization program and kinesiotaping application are revealed promising results in our patients. Therefore this study provides different options in supporting the treatment for clinicians in rehabilitation of the muscular diseases.
