They did, however, take advantage of both phonemic similarity and taxonomic category grouping and showed unimpaired ability to generate words, on the basis of either sound or taxonomic category membership. The results are discussed in terms of the proposal that semantic memory comprises two separate systems, one concerned with linguistic relationships, the other with imagery. On a étudié l'encodage mnésique chez des sujets amnésiques et chez des sujets contrôles en comparant le rappel libre de listes de mots contrôles sans rapport entre eux, avec le rappel de listes de mots groupés sur la base de la similarité phonémique, de l'appartenance taxonomique ou à une image visuelle complexe. Les sujets amnésiques ne tiraient aucun avantage de l'encodage par l'imagerie visuelle bien que tous soutenaient qu'ils étaient capables de former l'image nécessaire. Ils tiraient cependant avantage des groupements par similarité phonémique et par catégorie taxonomique et leur capacité de produire des mots en partant du son ou de l'appartenance à la catégorie taxonomique n'était pas perturbée. On discute ces résultats en proposant que la mémoire sémantique comprend deux systéme séparés, l'un en rapport avec les relations linguistiques, l'autre avec l'imagerie. Die Prüfung erfolgte in der Weise, daβ man eine Reihe von beziehungslosen Wörtern wiederholen muβte und das Ergebnis mit der Wiederholung von Wortgruppen ähnlichen Klanges oder taxonomischer Zugehörigkeit oder mit der Wiedergabe eines zusammengesetzten optischen Bildes verglich. Amnestische Kranke hatten keinen Vorteil durch das optische Bild, obgleich alle behaupteten, sie seien imstande die optischen Details wiederzugeben. Andererseits war es vorteilhaft für sie, wenn sie klanglich ähnliche und taxonomisch verwandte Wortgruppen behalten muβten. Sie waren auch unbehindert Worte zu bilden, entweder auf der Basis ähnlichen Klanges oder im Rahmen der taxonomischen Kategorie. Die Ergebnisse wurde dahingehend gedeutet, daβ das Begriffsgedächtnis sich auf zwei getrennte Systeme aufbaut, das eine umfaβt linguistische Bereiche, das andere fuβt auf Erinnerungsbildern." @default.
