- W1973497232 abstract "Five culture media have been evaluated for the detection of coliforms, E. coli, and Entero-bacteriaceae in several varieties of dairy products (fresh and dehydrated) and dehydrated cocoa products. Those media were: Brilliant green bile, Lauryl sulfate tryptone, Lactose glutamic acid, Enteric Enrichment broth, and Lactose broth. The medium with the highest sensitivity to coliforms detection was Lactose glutamic acid broth. Several times Brilliant green bile, Lactose or Enteric Enrichment broth were significantly less sensitive than the other two media. Except once, when it was significantly better, Lauryl sulfate broth was not significantly different from the other media. False positive results were most frequently found during the examination of dairy products with Lactose gultamic acid and Lactose broth, consequently confirmation reactions have to be carried out when these media are used. Frequently, Enteric Enrichment broth was less satisfactory for the detection of Enterobacteriaceae than the other media used. All five media showed more coliforms after 48 h than after 24 h of incubation at 30 °C. Whenever a significant difference existed in the sensitivity to determine E. coli, Lactose glutamic acid broth was significantly better than the other media. Fünf Nährböden zum Nachweis von Coliformen, E. coli und Enterobacteriaceae in verschiedenen frischen und Trockenmilchprodukten und in Kakaoprodukten wurden verglichen. Diese Nährböden waren: Brilliant green bile, Lauryl sulfate tryptone, Lactose glutamic acid, Enteric Enrichment broth und Lactose broth. Der empfindlichste Nährboden zum Nachweis von Coliformen war Lactose glutamic acid broth. Mehrmals waren Brilliant green bile, Lactose oder Enteric Enrichment broth signifikant weniger empfindlich als die beiden anderen. Außer einmal, wo er signifikant besser war, war Lauryl sulfate broth nicht signifikant verschieden von den anderen Nährböden. Die Untersuchung von Milchprodukten mit Lactose glutamic acid and Lactose broth gab sehr oft falsch-positive Resultate, daher müssen Bestätigungsreaktionen durchgeführt werden, wenn diese Nährböden angewendet werden. Oft war Enteric Enrichment broth weniger gut als die anderen Nährböden zum Nachweis von Enterobacteriaceae. Alle fünf Nährböden wiesen mehr Coliforme auf nach 48 Std. als nach 24 Std. Bebrütung bei 30 °C. Immer wenn ein signifikanter Unterschied in der Empfindlichkeit zum Nachweis von E. coli existierte, war Lactose glutamic acid signifikant besser als die anderen Nährböden." @default.
