• W1973637075 abstract "The IR spectra in polarized light of oriented fibres and films of polycarpoamide (PA-6) before and after their recrystallization at 562 K under a pressure of 5 MPa have been investigated. Increase in the intensity of the crystallinity bands 833, 928, 960 and 1029 cm−1 and fall in the intensity of absorption at 980 cm−1 characteristic of the amorphous part in the spectra of the samples after their annealing under pressure indicates a more than two-fold rise in the degree of crystallinity of the polymer as a result of its recrystallization, which agrees with the findings obtained from the melting thermograms. Change in the intensity of dichroism of the band 980 −1 points to the transition of some of the communicating molecules from the coiled to the straightened conformations. From comparative analysis of the IR spectra of the fibres in the region 3600–3300 cm−1 it is concluded that water is adsorbed in the amorphous regions of the initial fibre and that moisture uptake is far less in the fibre recrystallized under pressure." @default.
