- W1977543397 abstract "Multiaxial forging (MAF) was used as a strain induced melt activated (SIMA) process. The coarsening kinetics of the MAF formed AZ91D during partial remelting has been investigated. With increasing temperature, liquid is formed initially by the eutectic with lower melting point at boundaries and penetrates the recrystallised boundaries. Prolonged holding time resulted in grain coarsening. Grain coarsening in the semisolid state can be described by classical LSW (Lifshiz, Slyozov and Wanger) equation in Ostwald ripening. The coarsening rate does decreases with increasing temperature, for temperature lower than 560°C, and then increases again with further increasing temperature from 560 to 570°C." @default.
