• W1977875215 abstract "We attempt to examine here the status of two very prominent and important phenomenological models on the nature of hadronic total cross sections at very high (GeV/TeV) range of energies by comparing the model-based calculations with the measurements reported by the Particle Data Group in the recent past. In order to accommodate the very up-to-date data, the parameters of the models have been adjusted here, if and whenever necessary; and the results of these modifications in fitting the latest data have been presented here simultaneously with those obtained on the basis of original ones. The study reveals that the models of our choice work, on the whole, quite satisfactorily, though some major alterations of the parameters for some reactions and for energies beyond certain limits are found to be unavoidably necessary.
