- W1978045112 abstract "Abstract The physico-chemical and structural alterations generated by dry oscillating milling in magnetite crystals were examined. The process was studied using X-ray diffraction, differential thermal analysis, thermogravimetric analysis, dilatometry, chemical analysis, electron microscopy, granulometric analysis and density and magnetic susceptibility determinations. The effect of comminution was accompanied by the appearance of a low-crystallinity phase (γ-Fe 2 O 3 ), through partial oxidation of the Fe 2+ present in magnetite. The treated samples showed a decrease in crystallite size and significant modifications in their thermal behaviour. Electron microscopic observations confirmed the existence of amorphous materials, with the production of low-crystallinity agglomerates. The phenomena that occur are discussed." @default.
