- W1978575462 abstract "By the investigation of organic carbonyl compounds, dissolved in cyclohexane, CCl4, 1,4-dioxane, CH3CN, or CHCl3(CDCl3), hypothetic localized intermolecular interaction is suggested as the main reason for the changes in intensity of infrared absorption bands. Using carbonyl compounds in the liquid state as solutes, it is possible to vary the concentration ratio solute—solvent in such a way that with the resulting “inverse” binary mixtures bands can be investigated which are attributed to polar groups in the solvent molecules. Changes in these bands mean evidence that polar groups both in the solute and solvent molecules are able to form interaction centres and so to influence the intensifies of the absorption bands corresponding to these groups." @default.
