The results obtained enable one to predict the pressure drop and the void-fraction, when the interfacial friction factor is specified. Entrainment of the liquid in the core of the flowing gas has been taken into account by using the empirical relation of Hutchinson and Whalley (1973). It has been shown that the theory provides results in agreement with horizontal tube and vertical tube adiabatic flow data, in addition to predicting the liquid film thickness accurately. Pour résoudre les équations de l'écoulement annulaire à deux phases, on a employé le profil de vitesse polynômial de Pai (1953) applicable aux régimes transitoire et turbulent dans un écoulement monophasique. Les résultats obtenus permettent de prédire la perte de charge et le degré de vide, lorsqu'on spécifie le facteur de friction à l'interface. On a tenu compte de l'entraînement du liquide dans le gaz qui s'écoule au centre, en employant la relation empirique d'Hutchinson et de Whalley (1973). On a constaté que la théorie fournit des résultats en accord avec données de l'écoulement adiabatique dans les tubes horizontaux et verticaux, tout en prévoyant d'une manière exacte l'épaisseur du film liquide." @default.
