- W1978972661 abstract "A numerical analysis is performed to investigate blast-induced anisotropic rock damage around a blast hole. For comparison, user-subroutines for isotropic as well as anisotropic rock damage models is coded based on continuum mechanics. Since natural rock usually includes initial rock damages, the influence of initial rock damage is also considered in the analysis. The results of this study show that the blasting pressure and the elastic modulus are major influential parameters on isotropic rock damage. However, anisotropic rock damage analysis reveals that the blasting pressure is the most influential parameter, and the influence of elastic modulus is relatively low. The comparison results also show that rock damage zone from anisotropic damage analysis is approximately 34% larger in horizontal direction and 12% smaller in vertical direction than that from isotropic damage analysis.
