- W1979331326 abstract "Polycrystalline Ba(ClO3)2·(H2O)x, with x between zero and one, and Ba(ClO3)2· D20 have been investigated by 35Cl nuclear quadrupole resonance, X-ray diffraction and Raman scattering experiments. Frequency, linewidth, and intensity of the chlorine resonance signal change with increasing loss of water. Below a certain value x the quadrupole effects become less distinct, which could be accounted for by the appearance of phase separation of hydrous and anhydrous barium chlorate. X-ray diffraction and Raman measurements show that the lattice structure of Ba(ClO3)2 differs from that of the monohydrate and it most probably belongs to the space group Fd2d. Substitution of D20 for H2O causes only a small modification of the nuclear quadrupole resonance and the Raman spectra." @default.
