- W1980277664 abstract "Benzyltriphenylphosphonium chloride and sodium dodecyl sulfate are oppositely charged ions that interact in aqueous solution to form an insoluble complex. The solubility of this complex can be increased by added salt or urea. An increase in temperature from 10–60°C gives rise first to a reduced solubility and then to an increased solubility; the minimum being at about 19°C. The results are discussed in terms of a twofold interaction mechanism between the two ions; Coulombic and hydrophobic interactions. The corresponding behavior of sodium dodecyl sulfate micelles (in the presence of added phosphonium counterion) is also considered." @default.
