In Sm 2 Fe 17 a broad peak corresponding to the spin reorientation becomes clearer at about 150 K with increasing pressure. The aluminium content dependence of the spin reorientation in Tm 2 Fe 17-x Al x is examined experimentally, and the observed data are compared with a theoretical calculation based on a crystal field model. The spin reorientation temperature shifts toward the higher temperature side with increasing x. The effect of added Al or C is similar to the pressure effect in the sense that it increases the rare earth's magnetic anisotropy energy." @default.
