- W1986177573 abstract "Comparative analysis of the Er3+ (4f11) crystal free-ion energy level structure in a series of fluoride, chloride, bromide, and garnet systems are reported. These analyses are made taking the Hamiltonian model which includes 20 free-ion parameters that are defined as central field (EAVG), two-body electrostatic repulsion (F2, F4, F6), two-body configuration (α, β, γ), three-body configuration (T2, T3, T4, T6, T7, T8), spin–orbit (ξ), higher-order magnetic interaction (spin–other-orbit) (M0, M2, M4), and electrostatically correlated spin–orbit (P2, P4, P6) interactions. The systematic theoretical analysis of crystal free-ion levels results in good correlation between calculated and observed energies. Reanalysis for some systems reported here yields improved calculated-to-experimental energy level fits as compared to fits reported previously in the literature. The effects of the crystalline hosts on the empirical parameters are examined. Eine vergleichende Analyse der Er3+ (4f11)-Energieniveaustruktur in einer Reihe Fluoride, Chloride, Bromide und Granate wird durchgeführt. Diese Analyse wird mit einem Hamiltonoperator, der 20 Parameter des freien Ions eiließt, die als Zentralfeld (EAVG), elektrostatische Zweikörperabstoßung (F2, F4, F6), Zwei-Körperkonfiguration (α, β, γ), Drehkörperkonfiguration (T2, T3, T4, T6, T7, T8), Spin–Bahn (ξ)-, Spin-Wechselwirkung höherer Ordnung (M0, M2, M4)- und elektrostatisch korrelierter Spin–Bahn (P2, P4, P6)-Wechselwirkung definiert sind. Die systematische theoretische Analyse der Kristallniveaus führt zu einer guten Korrelation zwischen berechneten und beobachteten Energien.
