- W1987214816 abstract "Understanding the interactions of the spatial structure of interfering multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) channels is key to understanding the mechanisms by which interference degrades performance. The paper presents a way of explicitly examining the effect of interference on the MIMO subchannel gains and the interaction of the wanted and interfering spatial subchannels. Using this, an upper and a lower bound on the capacity are derived, which are close to the observed capacity over a wide range and are tight in the many-interferers asymptote. The effect of asymptotically high interference-to-noise ratio at a given number of interferers is also studied and the behaviour of the capacity in this case is derived. Monte Carlo simulation results are presented comparing the bounds to the calculated capacities. These show that, at loosest, the upper bound is within about 2 bps/Hz and the lower bound within about 3 bps/Hz of the observed capacities and that they tighten quickly as the number of interferers grows." @default.
