- W1988118361 abstract "It is widely known that, fossil power plants are required to be operated in dynamic scenario due to the timely variation of the grid demand. Flexible operation of post combustion CO2 capture imposes process disturbances and further investigation of dynamic behavior is required. For this purpose, a dynamic mathematical model of CO2 capture process in aqueous solution of 2-amino-2-methyl-1-propanol (AMP) has been developed. The mathematical model of proposed includes mass and heat transfer models, reaction kinetics, vapor–liquid equilibrium, hydrodynamic aspects etc., in order to study the coupled effect of temperature and concentration on the absorption rate. For model validation the pilot plant simulation results were compared to experimental data from literature. Temperature and composition profiles within the columns are predicted successfully by the model, illustrating its predictive capabilities. Dynamic simulations were performed to analyze the capability of the model to predict the effect of the disturbances from the up-stream power plant and the operating conditions of the plant itself, on the plant operation." @default.
