- W1989034944 abstract "Abstract The types and purposes of photoelectrochemical solar energy converter are briefly summarised. Materials that are, or might be, capable of the visible-light photoelectrolysis or photoassisted electrolysis of water are discussed. Preliminary findings on various ternary and quaternary oxides are reported. Monocrystalline n-CoFe1.86Ti0.14O4 in lMKOH is capable of photoanodic oxygen evolution at E>−0.35±0.05V (Hg, HgO). Its spectral response is almost uniform in the region 400–760nm. The maximum current quantum yield is 0.02 electrons photon−1. The material also gives rise to cathodic photocurrents at E" @default.
