- W1989865718 abstract "Abstract Laser desorption mass spectra of carbohydrates show abundant fragment ions which can be used for structure elucidation. Fragmentation occurs primarily as two-bond ring cleavages, in contrast to the glycosidic bond cleavages observed (often weakly) in fast atom bombardment and plasma desorption mass spectra. Laser desorption can thus provide an alternative to chemical derivatization procedures used to improve fragmentation in these two techniques. In addition, the combination of several ionization techniques can serve to provide a more complete structural picture." @default.
