- W1989900248 abstract "The matter transfer of an active agent through beads of ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymers has been studied for adsorption and desorption. The process of absorption has been achieved by immersing the bead in the pure active agent, and desorption by immersing the pre-saturated bead in pure water. As the process is very simple, with only the transfer of the active agent with a constant diffusivity, a classical treatment have been successfully tested for the kinetics of the transfer. Various parameters have been to affect the transfer, viz. the vinyl acetate content in the copolymer, ranging from 0 to 40%, and the melt index of the copolymer. Generally, the higher the vinyl acetate content, the higher is the capacity for absorption of the copolymer; a similar result has been obtained for the melt index. All the active agent, which has previously saturated the polymer sample, leaves the polymer during desorption into water." @default.
