- W1990353437 abstract "In practical aerodynamics, especially in airfoil testing, appropriate experimental techniques are required to determine the boundary-layer transition from laminar to turbulent flow. As it is well known that the local wall-pressure fluctuations increase due to a laminar-turbulent transition, the measurement of these pressure fluctuations can result in the identification of the transition point. PVDF-foils being sensitive to pressure fluctuations are well suited for this measuring purpose as the very thin and flexible foils can easily be mounted on a test body without disturbing the flow. This practical application of piezo-foils is exemplified in wind tunnel experiments on simple laminar-turbulent flows." @default.
