The reduction to elemental selenium is accomplished in both hydrochloric and formic acid solutions at 100 °C. Interference effects are shown to be negligible for various cations and anions including Te, Cu, Co, Ni, As, Bi, tartrate, nitrate and phosphate. Analysis of selenium-tellurium mixtures is achieved with a relative standard deviation of less than 0.1%. The proposed procedure is more versatile than the classical methods because of the ease with which it can be completed in less than 2 h." @default.
