- W1990733447 abstract "Torsion tests on as hot rolled Al- 4.5, Mg-0.35 Mn alloy were conducted over the ranges 0.1 to 10 s−1 and 200 to 500 °C. As temperature increased and strain rate decreased, the flow curves exhibited peaks which were lower and broader, followed by lower softening and closer approach to a steady state regime. This occurred partly because fracture occurred at higher strains. In constitutive analysis, the power law was found to be inappropriate but the exponential law was suitable. The hyperbolic sine function was found to fit more closely with stress multipliers between 0.04 and 0.06 MPa−1. The activation energy was found to be 208 kJ/mol but after correction was 185 kJ/mol. These results were shown to be in reasonable agreement with previous studies when allowance was made for variations in composition and microstructure.On a effectué des essais de torsion sur un alliage d'Al-4.5 Mg-0.35 Mn, laminé à chaud, dans la zone de 0.1 à 10s−1 et à des températures de 200 à 500 °C. À mesure que la température augmentait et que le taux de déformation diminuait, les courbes d'écoulement exhibaient des pics qui étaient moins élevés et plus larges. On observait ensuite un ramollissement plus bas et un rapprochement de l'état de régime constant, en partie parce que la rupture se produisait à de plus hautes déformations. Lors de l'analyse constitutive, on a trouvé que la loi de la puissance était inappropriée mais que la loi exponentielle était satisfaisante. On a trouvé que la fonction sinus hyperbolique s'ajustait mieux avec les multiplicateurs de contrainte entre 0.04 et 0.06 MPa−1. L'énergie d'activation était de 208 kJ/mol mais, après correction, elle était de 185 kJ/mol.
