- W1991282020 abstract "A viscometer has been designed and built to study the rheological behaviour of slags over a three order of magnitude range in rates of shear and up to shear stresses of 104 dynes cm−2. The following slag compositions were studied (wt%): (1) 42.0 SiO2 – 20.0 AlO – 38.0 CaO, (2) 40.3 SiO2 – 19.2 Al2O3 – 36.5 CaO – 4.0 CaF2, and (3) 37.8 SiO2 – 18.0 Al2O3 – 34.2 CaO – 10.0 CaF2 at temperatures of (1) 1390°C – 1350°C–1332°C, (2) 1325°C – 1300°C, and (3) 1300°C respectively. The three slags showed Newtonian behaviour at these temperatures. General conclusions are drawn as to the likelihood of Newtonian behaviour for other slag compositions in these systems. Résumé Un viscomètre a été conçu et construit pour étudier le comportement rhéologique des laitiers dans un intervalle de trois ordres de grandeur de taux de cisaillemen t et jusqu'aux contraintes de cisaillement de 104 dynes cm−2. Les compositions des laitiers utilisées étaient les suivantes (% poids): (1) 42.0 SiO2 – 20.0 Al2O3 – 38.0 CaO, (2) 40.3 SiO2 – 19.2 Al2O3 – 36.5 CaO – 4.0 CaF2, et (3) 37.8 SiO2 – 18.0 Al2O3 – 34.2 CaO – 10.0 CaF2 aux températures de (1) 1390°C – 1350°C – 1332°C, (2) 1325°C – 1300°C, et (3) 1300°C respectivement. Dans cette gamme de temperatures, les trois laitiers ont démontré un comportement newtonien. A la lumiere de ces résultats, il semble raisonnable de conclure que des laitiers de differentes compositions dans ce système suivent un comportement newtonien." @default.
