- W1991457098 abstract "This investigation examined the relationship between preschool children's communicator style and social attractiveness to peers and teachers. It was found that children aged 3, 4, and 5 who are more attractive to peers communicate in a more contentious, impression leaving, dramatic, open, and animated style. Those children who are more attractive to teachers have a style of communication that is more attentive, friendly, and relaxed. Age differences in the manifestation of communicator style were also found. As children get older they are perceived to communicate in a more open, relaxed, friendly, and attentive style. The results are interpreted from within a developmental perspective, and the pragmatic implications for social skill training programs are discussed." @default.
