The results imply that the Galactic stellar disk is warped at large radii in a way similar to the H-I layer, and that the warp is an important characteristic of the Galaxy as a whole. It is suggested that the warp may be a long-lasting phenomenon, possibly caused by asymmetries of the mass distribution in the outer regions of the Galactic dark halo.
