These patients are likely to create fictitious illnesses in order to gain prescription medications. Furthermore, these persons may tamper with prescriptions by changing the number of prescribed pills or adding to the number of refills. Fortunately, pharmacists often identify altered prescriptions and contact the prescribing physician for confirmation.In instances where there is a significant probability that prescription tampering may occur, a method for dealing with this problem is available.
