La necessità urgente di controllare tale fenomeno non può prescindere da un’analisi attenta e completa della situazione. I punti chiave sono: la psicologia dei giovani adolescenti, le loro motivazioni, le attitudini e i bisogni, unitamente al contesto in cui sono inseriti. Gli interventi possibili trovano nella prevenzione la strategia vincente. È dimostrato che la maggiore efficacia è ottenuta utilizzando piani di informazione costruiti con riferimento preciso alle caratteristiche di questa età e che includano nel programma il coinvolgimento attivo degli stessi adolescenti. All these factors prompt the adolescent to try new experiences, often characterized by a certain degree of risk. For many adolescents, choosing to experiment a somewhat dangerous situation can be felt as a privileged way to prove to themselves, as well as to others, their ability to be. The frequent decision of risk taking, combined with the ongoing search for new dangerous situations, explains the high frequency of fatal accidents and severe sequelae observed in this population. The urgent need to gain control over this trend entails a careful and thorough analysis.
