- W1993365903 abstract "The compound KMn${mathrm{Cl}}_{3}$ has the interesting feature of crystallographic polytypism. Two phases were obtained, having (i) KCd${mathrm{Cl}}_{3}$-type structure which was previously studied and (ii) CaTi${mathrm{O}}_{3}$-type (distorted-perovskite) structure. The crystallographic and magnetic structures of the CaTi${mathrm{O}}_{3}$-type KMn${mathrm{Cl}}_{3}$ are studied. It is found that the crystallographic distortions at room temperature lead to orthorhombic symmetry (space group $mathrm{Pbnm}ensuremath{-}{D}_{2h}^{16}$, and have components associated with the rotational normal modes ${M}_{3}$ and ${R}_{25}$. This phase is paramagnetic at room temperature and undergoes a transition to the antiferromagnetically ordered state at ${T}_{N}=102+3$ K. The magnetic structure below ${T}_{N}$ is a $G$-type structure and the magnetic moment is $4.6ifmmodepmelsetextpmfi{}0.5{ensuremath{mu}}_{B}$." @default.
