- W1994646212 abstract "Abstract Magnetisation studies have been made of pseudobinary compounds Gd(Rh 1- c X c ) 2 , X = Mn , Fe and Co , in fields of up to 50 kOe and in the temperature range 4–300 K. For GdRh 2 measurements give T c = 71 K and μ s = 7.03 μ B / f . u . The data for all three series also extrapolate to these values. The substitution of the 3d-atoms for Rh raises the ordering temperature, T c of the alloys. The initial variations of T c with Mn and Fe in the Gd(Rh 1- c Mn c ) 2 and Gd(Rh 1- c Fe c ) 2 series are similar and are much faster than those of T c in the cobalt substituted compounds. In the Gd(Rh 1- c Co c ) 2 series the molecular moment μ s shows a slow monotonic decrease with Co content and extrapolates to 4.64 μ B for GdCo 2 . In the Gd(Rh 1- c Mn c ) 2 series μ s decreases almost linearly with Mn content. The rate of decrease being somewhat greater than that of cobalt substituted compounds. At the GdMn 2 end a T c of approximately 40 K and μ s of 4.07 μ B were measured. The fastest variation in both T c and μ s occurs in the Gd(Rh 1- c Fe c ) 2 series particularly for c" @default.
