- W1995596989 abstract "Abstract Despite it looks homogeneous, the genus Utricularia shows a great ecological and biological diversity. Because of their varius ways of life, Utricularias are to be found in all environments, provided they are wet and oligotrophic. All the species share the same flower organization, typically adapted to xenogamic reproduction. Nevertheless autogamy is often observed, either constant or casual. Cleistogamy is observed too. Two kinds of cleistogamy are noticed. Opportunistic cleistogamy is a phenomenon frequently seen in many other families, it is a response to a temporary ecological stress. Quite the reverse, architectural cleistogamy looks very scarce in other families: chasmogamous flowers are always coexisting with cleistogamous ones, each of them are located in different, and well defined, parts of the inflorescence. Considering these observations, evolutive trends can be proposed within this highly differenciated genus." @default.
