- W1996733286 abstract "Abstract Experimental and theoretical results concerning the blistering of thermoplastic polymers used in the petroleum industry are described. Cells working with methane up to a pressure of 100 MPa have been equipped with an LVDT and temperature sensors to record the thickness variation, pressure and temperature of the samples during the tests. The results from the LVDT sensor have been used to model the different phases of the tests. The model described is based on the volumetric variations of the samples under gas pressure. This model estimates the Von Mises stresses in the materials during the tests. A comparison with the mechanical strength of the samples shows that the orders of magnitude are enough to predict the blistering of the materials tested." @default.
