- W1996849421 abstract "Thermoelectric effects in superconductors are revised on the basis of a Fermi liquid kinetic approach with taking into account the superfluid motion (). The basic point of our revision is an expression for the thermoelectric current density involving the transport velocity of quasiparticles (possessing the quasimomentum p and energy ep) in the form of the 'group' velocity instead of the 'phase' velocity p/m previously employed by other authors including Gal'perin et al. It is derived that the thermoelectric coefficient contains, besides the usual metal-like part, an additional contribution of semiconductor-like character. The metal-like part is similar to that obtained by Gal'perin et al and sharply disagreed with the experimental results of Van Harlingen et al. The semiconductor-like part, missed by other authors and vanishing for vs = 0, furnishes a physically reasonable explanation of the great disagreement between the Gal'perin theory and the Van Harlingen experiments not only in magnitude of the thermoelectric coefficient but also in its temperature divergence as Tc is approached from below, if one adheres to the charge imbalance notion." @default.
