Furthermore, this medium allowed growth of these bacteria without exogenous CO2at 40°C. After incubation for 28h in 5% CO2or 36h without exogenous CO2, cultures inoculated with approximately 102colony forming units (CFU)/ml reached cell densities of 106to 109(mean 108) CFU/ml and produced positive signals in the polymyxin-cloth enzyme immunoassay.
