Detailed numerical calculations are performed for the 3 S 1 neutron-proton interaction. First, the exponential and Gaussian potentials are examined and it is found that Schwinger's formulation is a precise approximation method in a very large energy region. Then, it is proved thatfor any non-local but separable potential the fractional form of Schwinger's variational principle gives the exact scattering amplitude. The Yamaguchi potential is treated as an example. In each case, comparison with first and second Born approximations is made." @default.
