- W1997194114 abstract "The Mössbauer effects have been studied for both Fe 57 and Ir 193 nuclei in an alloy series of Fe 70 Pt 30- x Ir x ( x =0, 1, 3, 5, 8, 10, 15 and 20) with f.c.c. structure, and the values of hyperfine field and isomer shift have been deduced. It has been revealed that the alloy system of Fe 70 Pt 30- x Ir x has two magnetic regions, one is ferromagnetic ( x <8) and the other a spin glasss state ( x ≥8). Though the bulk magnetization vanishes in the spin glass state, finite hyperfine fields are found at both Fe and Ir nuclei. The results are interpreted from the view point of environment effect. The magnetic moment of Fe decreases rapidly by the existence of Ir atoms in its nearest neighbor shell, and takes the opposite direction to the bulk magnetization when there are two or more Ir atoms. The concentration dependence of the isomer shift is interpreted in terms of the volume magnetostriction." @default.
