- W1997722104 abstract "Cell culture experiments were conducted to study the fate and degradation of [14C]parathion-methyl in either soybean or wheat cells. The tested radioactive pesticide was incubated with the cell suspension cultures for 48 h during the logarithmic growth phase and under sterile conditions. The distribution of the radioactivity was determined in the forms of polar metabolites, less polar metabolites, non-extractable residues and the remaining parent compound. In this connection p-nitrophenyl β-glucoside, paraoxon methyl and p-nitrophenol could be identified as the most important metabolites. Soybean cells showed higher utilisation of the pesticide under investigation than those of wheat as indicated by their turnover rates. In addition, considerable differences were found between soybean and wheat with regard to their released parathion-methyl metabolites which have been given special attention in this research." @default.
